Some Kind of Wonderful (1987)
*Second Review

Ananda and i were trying to find something to watch last night at my place, but she usually doesn't want to pick out things to do. so i said that since i had just gotten my new dvd copy of Some Kind of Wonderful and hadn't watched it yet that we should watch that. it just got released a couple of weeks ago, so if you've been wanting to buy a copy by any chance, now you can.

my first entry on this film is available here. i still think it's a great film obviously and it's worth watching over and over. ok, i have nothing else to say on this topic so i'm going to move on to something else.

Teresa Wright keeps coming up in conversations between Greg and i at work. he was trying to convince me the other day that i need to send her a letter before she dies. she's currently 85 years old, so she may not have many years left obviously. i've been trying to come up with something to say to her, but i've also been working on trying to find her mailing address. i've just about given up on trying to find that. the best website for that sort of thing i could find is stararchive.com. but the two addresses that are listed as possibilities for her on there have been tested and the people didn't get any responses from them. they got their letters returned saying that it was the incorrect address. i even found the current address of her "current" husband according to the IMDb, but i read elsewhere that they were divorced in 1978. so i'm at sort of a standstill on that. let me know if you come up with anything better for me.

i also realized that she plays a small but crucial role in one of my favorite romance films of all time, Somewhere In Time (1980) starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. i've watched it since i was a kid because my mom loves it too. i'm sure you've probably seen it, but in the film Richard Collier becomes obsessed with a beautiful young actress that's approximately the same age as him. the problem is that she's been dead for quite a few years and was actually born long before he was (before the turn of the century). he then travels back in time to be with her. the novel Bid Time Return was written by one of my favorite authors, Richard Matheson, who also wrote such awesome books as Earthbound, I Am Legend, and What Dreams May Come.

anyway, while trying to find out more info on Teresa Wright such as where her mailing address is, I realized that she is actually in this film. she plays the small role of Laura Roberts who is sort of the attendant/companion to the aging Elise McKenna. this is starting to freak me out a little bit.
