no, this is not the animated film from a few years ago. this was the last Luc Besson film that i still hadn't had a chance to see. it's sort of a documentary, but with only music and sound effects. not quite as good as his "real" movies.
i'm not sure why it's called "Atlantis." but it does have lots of things under the ocean. mostly just animals moving around and reacting to one another. luckily it isn't too long. it's even shorter when you fast forward through a good bit of it.
the music by Eric Serra was terrible in this for the most part. usually he does a wonderful job, but maybe since this was earlier in his career, he wasn't as well developed as a musician yet.
speaking of Luc Besson, he seems to finally be directing another film. it is, however, animated. it's called Arthur and the Minimoys (2006). right now on the IMDb, the only cast members it lists are Madonna, Snoop Dogg, and David Bowie. i'm guessing it's going to be musical, animated, and dumb. i guess this is officially the end of my fascination with Luc Besson.
