Dirty Harry (1971)

after months of playing bar trivia on Friday nights w/ guys from the media center at the library, i came to the realization that i needed to see Dirty Harry. they have insane amounts of questions in the trivia games about the Dirty Harry series. it's really weird how trivia makers often will focus on one thing like that.

it's a movie about a vigilante sort of cop who has his own extreme way of handling cases. he often does things that endanger the lives or rights of the criminals involved or even endanger his own life. he's filled with "ultraviolence," to quote from A Clockwork Orange (1971). people in the early 70's liked the violence i guess huh? anyway, Harry has to chase a serial killer. the serial killer is an awesome character, rivaling even Wild Bill from The Silence of the Lambs (1991). completely nuts.

i enjoyed the film i guess mostly because of the Scorpio (serial killer) character. every scene he was in amazed me. Clint Eastwood's performance was pretty awesome too, but it's nothing extremely different from what he was able to achieve in his many western films he was involved with.
