and after about 2 weeks off...he's back with all new entries. that's what a new full time job will do to you i guess.
my new boss Margaret gave this to me at work to watch this weekend. she's been trying to work a group viewing into lunch somehow, but hasn't been able to successfully accomplish that as of yet. but it's a comedy that's sort of about librarians, plus Margaret loves Parker Posey. i really like Parker Posey, but i haven't found a really awesome film that's she's been in yet other than Best In Show (2000).
so Parker Posey starts out the film by throwing an illegal party and getting arrested. she calls her librarian godmother for bail money and in order to pay it back she starts working at the library as a clerk. she's pretty much a superficial idiot, but she decides to actually learn the ropes of being a librarian and start working for a living.
i was pretty bored watching this and didn't laugh very much. there were a few good bits though. my favorite part was when she's sitting at the library counter and she sees a young male patron nonchalantly putting a book back on a random shelf. (this is a huge pet peeve of many many librarians because we spend so much time trying to keep things organized.) she starts yelling at him and it's just great. something like "our friend has found a great system! we can just put books wherever we damn well please! right? right!"
ok, since i didn't like the movie a lot i'm not going to say much about it. plus this is my third entry of the day and i'm going to see another movie later tonight.
