*gone for a week

ok, there probably won't be any entries for a week or so after today. i'm going on my trip to Wales. i'll probably post a picture or two next week on my other diary when i get back. (for those of you who read the other one.)

since i won't be here to comment on anything, i thought i'd suggest a few awesome movies that you might try to locate and watch while i'm gone:

Alone. Life Wastes Andy Hardy (1998)

this is a short film that has editing that is both amazing and hilarious. i don't know where to tell you to find it other than at a library, but it's so worth it if you're able to. it's a bunch of freaky editing done to old Andy Hardy footage.

Strangers on a Train (1951)

a great Alfred Hitchcock picture that is way underrated.

Barry Lyndon (1975)

probably the least often seen Kubrick movie since he did 2001, but it's pretty damned cool. lots of no name actors too which works for this film quite well.

Legends of the Fall (1994)

an all around awesome movie. breathtaking cast and it's so pretty.

The Mummy(1999) & The Mummy Returns (2001)

you have to convince yourself that these movies are comedies and not serious adventure movies. then they rock. and i think The Mummy Returns has the most film references of any movie i can think of. it's so much fun to try and pick them all out.

The Piano (1993)

this movie is more intense than you might think.

The 400 Blows (1959)

i don't remember this movie at all, but i apparently gave it a 9 the last time i rated it.

East of Eden (1955)

another great James Dean movie worth watching. actually you should watch all 3 of his movies if you haven't.

At Sachem Farm (1998) a.k.a. Uncorked

a very quirky but cool movie. yes, the USA video title is moronic. it helps if you keep thinking of it as being called At Sachem Farm.
