Pride and Prejudice (1995)

yes this film does indeed have a rating of 9.1/10 on the IMDb. that's better than The Godfather (1972). of course they don't list it anymore because it's now classified as TV because it originally aired on the BBC.

this yet another outstanding novel by Jane Austen brought to the big screen. yes they did film it in widescreen format. this one tells of a family of five sisters, the Bennets, who (i guess during the 1800s?) lived together in England. the two oldest sisters who you can't help but love must find happiness with some sort of gentlemen if possible, although they don't come from a great family and don't have huge fortunes to their names. many men come and go throughout the story and there is a lot of joy and heartached. i refuse to describe more because this film is over 5 hours long.

let me say that i have tried endlessly to rent this dvd from Gemstone where I usually rent films (other than the library), and this is the first time it was ever actually in the store. why they don't own more copies, i don't know. anyway i finally got to see it in its amazing etirety so i guess it's all cool.

anyone who likes this movie, check out the other excellent Jane Austen adaptations that were released in the U.S. in the 90s like Emma (1996) and Sense and Sensibility (1995).

again, please hit the "previous movie" button today. i can't stop doing these two at a time.
