Mars Attacks! (1996)

this is Tim Burton's idea of a comedy. homages to many films (including some of his own?) it has many film references, some of which include Star Wars (1977), Batman (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), and Apocalypse Now (1979). he also uses some actors he used in previous films like Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, and Sylvia Sidney.

it's a crazy film and i'm not sure who it was really targeted at. maybe it was just fun for Tim Burton. i own a copy of it basically because Natalie's in it. it also has some really funny stuff. like the Martian language. i also love the American translator machine. "For dark is the suade that mows."

i think it gets a 6/10. i believe that's my rating i give when i like a film but would only recommend it with reservations. yeah that's this one. watch it if you're a big Tim Burton fan. but be prepared for some not-so-funny-and-just-mostly-weird comedy.
