The Whole Nine Yards (2000)

woohoo! i have internet access again. finally got things organized at my new place and got the computer hooked up. now i can review again. and complain. but not about this movie.

this is possibly the greatest comedy of 2000. i can't think of another great one off the top of my head. i don't think i heard anything about it when it was at the theater but it really took off in rentals and video from what i can tell. this was the second time i had seen it. it gets a 9. the jokes are hilarious, lots of physical humor, and even if you hated Matthew Perry on Friends you'll love him in this excellent role.

it's just a very "different" kind of movie. i don't think any of the actors or actresses have had any similar roles before. probably the closest would be Matthew Perry to his role on friends, but it's still got some great variations put on it here. my friend Colin was referring to it as a spoof of the film noir genre. you could definitely argue that, but the spoofing makes it much more likeable. it's in color for one thing. and most of the characters are idiots in one way or another. and all of the villains are likeable people. i love it and everyone is required by law to see it. 9/10.
